That's a wrap on the MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects Kickstarter campaign!  At this time of giving thanks, we really want to thank you again for believing in our game and making it a reality. Not only did you 904 brilliant backers help us fund the game, but we were also able to unlock every one of our stretch goals with your support. More monsters for everyone!

Obviously, there's a lot for us still to do between now and fulfillment, and we are moving as quickly as we can behind the scenes to get MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects to you as quickly as possible.

Keep an Eye (or 2 or 3 or 7) Out

As we move forward, watch your inboxes for more campaign updates. You all have given us some great responses to our surveys during the campaign--like the one where you requested the Mythological Monsters promo pack--so we may be asking you for some more input down the road as we make some other decisions. 

We also had 10 people back at the "Back for More" level, which means 10 of you should be hearing from us soon with directions for how to design some monsters to be included in the game!

The MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects campaign is almost over and what a ride it has been! Your continued enthusiasm for the project has us positively glowing. And speaking of glowing, with a little over 24 hours left, we've got a little bit of time left to unlock our final stretch goal, the glow-in-the-dark box!

More Monster Games!

I’m obviously a huge fan of all things monster related, so when I heard about Exquisite Crime, I knew I was going to love it. Exquisite Crime is a collaborative storytelling game where you build monsters bit by bit as you try to piece together a mystery. If you dig the playful vibe of MonsDRAWsity and love how much the game gets people around the table talking, I feel like you’d be really into Exquisite Crime as well. Their Kickstarter campaign has a little less than a day left, so head on over, take a look, and consider supporting a project as weird, wonderful, creative, and monster-infused as MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects. In the campaign’s own words:

"Exquisite Crime comes from the amazing minds of Banana Chan (Jiangshi, Dune: Adventures in the Imperium RPG), and Sen-Foong Lim (Batman The Animated Series - Rogues Gallery, Scooby Doo: Escape From Haunted Mansion). It’s a new, game master-less, storytelling game: where players play as Paranormal Detectives in a surreal world, taking turns transcribing their 'visions' to another player who renders their words into a drawing."

More Stretch Goals!

Y’all have been steadily unlocking stretch goals and making Unusual Suspects a better and better package. You recently unlocked the Bathroom Oddities promo pack illustrated by Will Jones and featuring monsters that you might find hiding in your bathroom trying their best to blend in with the rest of the stuff scattered across your counter or shower shelf. You also unlocked some super spiffy spot UV on the box (shiny!). I’m happy to report that with a little more than a week left in the campaign, we ain’t done yet! It’s my pleasure to announce the next two stretch goals: My Little Monsters and a glow-in-the-dark box!

People of all ages love playing MonsDRAWsity, but it has been a big hit with younger players especially. Across social media, videos, podcasts, and blog posts, I keep hearing stories of parents playing MonsDRAWsity with their young children, and I LOVE IT. For this reason, we are making the next stretch goal an expansion pack called My Little Monsters, a sort of “D.R.A.W-agent-in-training” pack featuring monsters that are a little less scary, a little less complicated, and a little easier to describe, perfect for easing younger players into the MonsDRAWsity experience. These cards will have a slightly different card back so the adults can recognize them when all the MonsDRAWsity cards are shuffled together. This expansion will be free to backers backing at the I Want to Believe level and above!

The next stretch goal is a glow-in-the-dark box! This one is more self-explanatory, but still pretty neat! If you’ve got a few minutes and very strong feelings about it, I’d love to hear your thoughts in the campaign comments about how you’d like this glow-in-the-dark box to work. Do you want to whole box to have glow-in-the-dark embellishments? Do you just want the sides to glow so that they light up a section of your Kallax at night? Do you want just the MonsDRAWsity logo to be glowing? Let us know!

FAQ

Will a donation pledge give me access to the pledge manager?

Yes! Backing at higher pledge levels will help up unlock stretch goals faster, but everyone who backs at any tier (even the "Pledge Without a Reward" tier) will have access to the pledge manager.

Is the "MonsDRAWsity: Robots" expansion included in the Everything New tier?

The Robots expansion is not included in the Everything New tier because it is not new as of this campaign. The physical version of the Robots expansions has been available for preorder for some time and the digital version has also been for sale on Roll20 for many months.

What is Best of the Bestiary?

Best of the Bestiary is an expansion illustrated by some of the top names in board game and comic illustration. It's kind of an "All-Star" or "Dream Team" illustrator pack.

Does the "I Want to Believe" tier include Best of the Bestiary?

Best of the Bestiary is not included in "I Want to Believe" because it is an expansion (30-40 cards), not a promo pack (3-5 cards). I Want to Believe includes promos unlocked during this campaign, not expansions.

What are the "Technically Difficult" and "Bring Your Kid to Work" decks?

These are explained in more detail in Update #2. Each pack provides optional challenges to add even more silliness to the MonsDRAWsity experience.

Bring Your Kid to Work makes drawing more challenging and Technically Difficult makes being the witness more difficult. Integrating one or both of these decks into your MonsDRAWsity games is totally optional, but they do provide some fun ways to change things up a bit. One way you could use them is having the player(s) in first place draw one on their turn to create some fun catch-up opportunities.

Each set will also be available individually in the future, but you get them both as part of this campaign!
