A Trick and a Treat
Official D.R.A.W. memo:
Agents, you'll no doubt have several witnesses reporting sightings tomorrow morning. As you know, several sucrose-loving species of anomalies love to use Halloween as the perfect cover, blending in with all the costumed trick-or-treaters and begging alongside them for sources of sugar. Other anomalies love crashing costume parties, doing the Monster Mash beside unsuspecting humans. Our reports indicate that there's usually at least one entity that feeds off fear working undercover at every haunted house. But every year some people get close enough to these entities to realize what they're seeing is not a costume, and that's where you come in.
Although we said we were slowly declassifying artists from our files, that was just a trick so we could surprise you today by declassifying many of them at once. Instead of snack-sized updates to the roster of artists over the next few days, we have done a king-sized reveal. Scroll down the page to check out the new illustrators!
Amuck! Amuck! Amuck!
You lovely backers are out of control when it comes to unlocking stretch goals! As you can see, you've unlocked the Ragnarok promo pack AND upgraded markers. Well done! We've got more stretch goals in store, so check back in tomorrow for more info and keep sharing the campaign around. The more people that back, the more we can deluxe-ify Unusual Suspects!
Best of the Bestiary
There's been some confusion about whether or not this is included in "I want to believe" It is not. The stretch goal is to include more content in the Bestiary but I want to believe backers would need to add it on still.

Good afternoon, agents!
$30K - Time to Shut Up & DRAW!
Your astounding work in the field is leading to genuine progress in our department's research; as a result, we've officially unlocked the Shut Up & DRAW stretch goal! For all you "I Want To Believe" backers and above, that means you'll be getting a brand new promo pack included with your rewards, created and illustrated by the SUSD team themselves. More chaos from their chaotic minds is a... good thing, right? Better out than in, we always say!
That also means we're incredibly close to the next stretch goal; in fact, we're only a few hundred away from the beginning of Ragnarok! Well, the Ragnarok Promo Pack, filled with creatures inspired by Nordic myth and illustrated by the ever-delightful Joseph Mead. If you agents manage to bring that pack to life, we might even look into improving your supplies around the office! How about some super spiffy upgraded markers?*
*We can't promise the accuracy of your sketches will improve even with these upgraded markers.
What about the Robots?
Some of you've been asking about our Robots expansion and why it hasn't been included in references to "Everything New." The Robots expansion celebrated its physical release just before this Kickstarter project launched, had been available for preorder for several months, and has existed on the Roll20 app for almost half a year at this point! As a result, we don't consider it part of the "Everything New" family for this project. Anyone who owns the base game and wants to add that expansion to their collection can do so with ease right now!
International Shipping
Some of you have asked for clarification in regards to international fulfillment, and we're happy to provide details!
Domestic Shipping will be handled by us in the US. We work with many international fulfillment partners around the world to try and provide you with the most economical and VAT friendly shipping possible.
EU: VAT friendly and shipping from within the EU.
UK: VAT friendly and shipping from within the UK
CA: VAT friendly and shipping from within CA
AU/NZ: VAT friendly and shipping from Australia.
Asia: Shipping from China to nearly everywhere.
Rest of the World: There's a possibility that we may have missed a region or we simply don't have a fulfillment partner that services that region. You're welcome to reach out to us if you feel like your location should be included in one of the above fulfillment regions or if your question isn't answered here!
Monster Sightings Near You?!
As soon as we started up this campaign, paranormal activity spiked all over! Monster sightings have been pouring in, and we need agents out on the field helping. If you want to put your sketching skills to the test, perhaps you can bring life to the robotic creatures gathering dust in this sighting, or perhaps you'd like to help out this sweet couple who saw something spooky earlier this week! You can share your work over TikTok, Twitter, or Facebook by tagging it with the #MonsDRAWsity tag!
Popular Monsters and Mechanics
In case you didn't see, our department has caught the attention of some pretty big wavemakers. Specifically, Popular Mechanics has named MonsDRAWsity their favorite drawing game of 2021! As they clearly have great taste, we encourage you to take a peek at what else made the list for best of the best. A little bird-monster told me another Deep Water Games title made it onto that list too...
TAGIE Voting - Almost Over!
This is the final weekend you can vote for MonsDRAWsity over at the TAGIE Awards! The game's been nominated for the Toy and Game International Excellence Award for Innovative Art and Visuals, and it's an honor to simply be part of the finalists. If the game has brought a smile to your face, we know your support would bring one to ours. Thank you so much!

Smashing Stretch Goals!

Hey, y'all! Eric Slauson here, designer of MonsDRAWsity. Deep Water Games gave me the keys to the Kickstarter temporarily so that I could send this update. I hope I don't say something wrong or miss a bunch of typos. That would be particularly embarrassing since my job as an English teacher technically makes me a proofessional profreader.
Let's get to updating!
A Close Encounter with the 3 Stretch Goals
As we mentioned in update 1, all you backers are absolutely incredible. It's only been a day and you've crushed 3 stretch goals! So what are the new goodies you've unlocked? I'm glad you asked!
First up is a branded eraser cloth. This special gift for our Kickstarter backers will make erasing your beautiful(?) creatures between rounds a breeze. That's its intended purpose anyway. We're not the boss of you, so if you want to explore the utility of your branded cloth, go for it! Heading to your favorite lobster place? You'll have the coolest bib in the joint! Have a newborn? Up your peek-a-boo game by hiding behind this deluxe fabric square! The possibilities are endless.
Next up is the Spooky promo pack illustrated by Gij Arentz! Gij's MonsDRAWsity creations are always fantastic, so it's been a treat to see Gij's Halloween-themed beasties. Check out one of them below. He's really pulling off that hat. Work it, you abomination!
The most recently obliterated stretch goal was adding more cards to the Best of the Bestiary pack. This stretch goal is going to allow us to contract more artists to have in the Best of the Bestiary pack. Keep an eye out for updates on who's working with us! Those names will be declassified soon! Speaking of which, make sure you scroll down the campaign page to take a look at some of the artists we have creating creatures for MonsDRAWsity. More names will be declassified from the Department of Recording Anomaly Witnesses files every couple of days. Many of these artists are available for commissions, so give them a shout if their portfolios speak to you.
S.E.T.I: Someone Explain These Items!
There are two mini expansions that will be in the Unusual Suspects box that I wanted to explain a bit: Bring Your Kid to Work and Technically Difficult. Each pack provides optional challenges to add even more silliness to the MonsDRAWsity experience.
Bring Your Kid to Work makes drawing more difficult as artists try to interview the witness while also keeping an eye on their kid who is shadowing them during bring your kid to work day. Why is your marker suddenly sticky?! With kids around, who knows? I guess you'll just have to draw while holding it with only the tips of your fingers for the next round.
Technically Difficult makes being the witness more difficult as they have to memorize each creature under strange circumstances. It's already tricky to memorize a creature in 20 seconds, but what if that creatures is hanging you upside down at the same time? What if you have to talk to the D.R.A.W. agents while barely moving a muscle because you're still thawing out from the monster's freeze ray?
Again, integrating these challenges into your MonsDRAWsity games is totally optional, but they do provide some fun ways to change things up a bit. One way you could use them is having the player(s) in first place draw one on their turn to create some fun catch-up opportunities. If you want to get all thematic with it, just think that D.R.A.W. would send their most freaked out witnesses to their star artist (Technically Difficult) and that same star artist would have the confidence to bring their kid into work to show off (Bring Your Kid to Work).
Each set will also be available individually in the future, but you get them both as part of this campaign!
Stretch Goals 2: The New Batch
More stretch goals! Our new stretch goals are marker upgrades and more promos! The marker upgrades speak for themselves (as in they are self-explanatory not as in we're including sentient markers that talk) and the next promo pack to be unlocked is the Ragnarok promo by Joe Mead!
We love coming up with themes for MonsDRAWsity, but not all of them make it into a full expansion or refresh pack. We are so excited to add in these promos because it lets us get our creativity out and gives the artists a specific topic to run with!
And you can get your creativity out too by adding theme ideas and then voting on them tomorrow!

Unusual Suspects Day One!

Aaahhhhh Real(ly funded) Monsters!!
Thanks to all of you wonderful first day backers, we are funded and on our way to smashing through our first stretch goal. We here at Deep Water Games really can't thank you enough for the awesome response we've seen to MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects. We know some of you personally, but most of you are strangers who just love monsters, party games, doodling, SU&SD, and everything else that Unusual Suspects brings to the table. Your support means so much and we can't wait to show you what else we have in store. Some of those things are more stretch goals, and the fastest way to unlock those is with your help! The original MonsDRAWsity is successful because of word of mouth, so please keep that going! You can help spread the word by sharing the campaign on social media, participating in our tiktoks, and posting in any board game forums or community groups you’re a part of!
The engagement in the comments has been awesome! Your questions have been a huge help in making sure this campaign is as transparent and clear as possible. One question we’ve seen a few times is if we could add a tier for people who already have MonsDRAWsity and Cute Creatures. After some internal discussion, our answer is: WHY NOT? We heard you loud and clear, so we’ve added the Everything New pledge tier for those who have been following MonsDRAWsity since the beginning. This pledge includes:
MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects
Technically Difficult Event Deck
Bring Your Kids To Work Deck
Best of the Bestiary Expansion
Back For More Expansion
Science Refresh Pack
Terrorsaurs Refresh Pack
All Unlocked Promos
Thanks again for making your voice heard and sharing your thoughts! Speaking of…
Your Monsters Incorporated
We want to hear your ideas! We're calling on all of our backers to submit themes for a new promo pack! We'll be opening our favorites up to voting for all backers, so that you can decide what the next theme will be! You can submit your theme here: https://airtable.com/shrvMyQLaJiV6TgQx
That’s all from us for now! Thanks again for a fantastic first day!
