A Change in Management

Hello Agents,
Thank you for your immense patience. While we hoped to have all the details of this project ironed out over the summer, internal restructuring in the company has led to some complicating factors.
Deep Water Games was a part of a media conglomerate called Ox Eye Media. Ox Eye Media has been a leading publisher of comics, under Source Point Press, and games, under Deep Water Games. Shortly before Gen Con, the leadership of Ox Eye Media decided a change in Deep Water’s structure needed to happen. The decision was made to spin off Deep Water from Ox Eye Media. Leading this new company is myself, one of the original founders of Deep Water Games, Jacob Way.
This change has mostly meant a lot of logistical issues as we finalize the details of the change. This has caused a significant delay in communication and delivery, including the updates and progress reports of this Kickstarter. I want to personally apologize for the concerns that have arisen from these delays and the lack of communication explaining why they were happening.
With the new direction of Deep Water Games now finalized, this project will be my our top priority. In the next 2 weeks, I will be putting up an updated delivery schedule. I’m just as excited to get this game to you as you are to receive it, and I’m thrilled to be able to focus my attention on making sure this excellent game gets to you as soon as possible. Without you we wouldn’t be able to release fantastic products like MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects, and I hope this leadership change--and the change in management practices--will reflect how much I value your support.
I am currently at SHUX and will be at Essen next weekend, so if you happen to run into me or stop by the booth, please come over and say hi! Here is my personal direct email if you have any questions about what is happening with Deep Water Games: [email protected].
I welcome any and all backers to reach out and let me know how we can improve!
Thanks again,
Jacob Way

A little exercise to test your skills before Gen Con!

Good afternoon, agents.
We’ve heard reports that multiple anomalies have been sited in the Indianapolis region as of late, so we’ve decided we’re going to launch a full-blown investigation from August 4th to August 7th, under the guise of a board gaming event called “Gen Con.” Several agents will post up at booth 2923 in case any of the creatures can be found on the vendor floor, but this investigation might require scouring the entire city.
Several witnesses sent photos of the anomalies, but it would appear only their silhouettes were captured. (Amateurs, but they mean well.) If you’ve encountered anything similar during your years with D.R.A.W, we ask that you describe to us what these creatures might theoretically look like under better lighting. We’re at a loss here at Headquarters, and we’ll happily reward any agent whose description is close enough to lead us to the truth. Want to take a stab at it in the comments, agent?
Proofing is moving forward, and we hope to have a detailed delivery timeline in the next couple of weeks!
Clarification, more details, and an apology

Good afternoon, agents.
Earlier today we announced a new product without adequate information on the product you're all eagerly waiting for. Your frustrations with this announcement were understandable and I apologize for coming up short on that front.
So, before all else, further details on the timeline of MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects!
1.) We are currently finishing up all the proofing from our factory in Shanghai. Unfortunately our production has been delayed due to the rolling COVID shutdowns. All the cards are finished, and the only remaining task is to finish the boxes and packaging, but the factory is behind on proofing. We hope to have this all done by the end of July and have everything still on the schedule we posted.
Unfortunately, the extra time we padded our schedule with has been eaten up by the shutdowns, so if anything additional comes up to delay the project, we will be enough to push us off our timeline. We are putting as much labor as we can towards the project, but delays at manufacturing and shipping are uncontrollable and worse yet, they are unpredictable.
2.) We'd like to explain that this Target version, while only announced in June due to the nature of this partnership, was being handled earlier, by a different team, and had fewer moving parts that allow for quicker production as well. Just for clarity, that version was sent to production shortly after this Kickstarter concluded.
The contents themselves are different, with fewer boards and slightly less bizarre monsters (after all, they didn't come from the minds of SUSD!) No part of that game's production had an impact on the timeline for MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects, and once it was completed, those members actually started working on Unusual Suspects and helped speed it along!
Unusual Suspects delays have been frustrating, but they were in no part due to this release, and we hope you won't hold any of those delays against this delightful addition to the series as a whole. We're still deeply excited to bring Unusual Suspects into your homes as quickly as we can, and we're sorry for inspiring any extra doubt or agitation this morning with the way we handled our update.
Thank you again for voicing your frustration. Our goal is not to frustrate our fans but excite them. Our company moves fast, and often we forget to clearly communicate that we are not forgetting anything while we do so.
Thanks,
Jacob Way

Surprise Evidence Has Leaked!

Good morning, agents.
As some of you may have realized, there's been a leak.
100 brand new anomalies have made their way into Targets across the nation, releasing vital documents and siting reports from D.R.A.W into the public. This collection is entirely separate from the original MonsDRAWsity's creatures, along with the creatures agents will see collected in MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects. That's right: this Target-exclusive release of department information is more content from the Department of Recording Anomaly Witnesses!
Seasoned agents will want to visit a Target near them or investigate online if they're interested in broadening their collection of monster sightings.
As far as MonsDRAWsity: Unusual Suspects goes, the game is finishing card proofing (a bit behind schedule, as our factory is behind on manufacturing due to the Shanghai shutdown, but finally wrapping up.) We should have a finalized box design shortly as well!
Best of luck, my colleagues!
The shipping woes should be over!

Good evening, agents.
Based on the feedback and numbers we’ve seen rolling in, it appears that you’ve all taken the BackerKit for this project to heart. For those of you who had issues picking your country for shipping, we’ve fixed the issues that were blocking some countries out, so please give it another go if you hadn’t already. Completing your mission should be as simple as can be now. Please keep in mind, we literally cannot fulfill your pledge without that information, so if you haven’t received the link or are struggling to fill it out for some reason (due to shipping location, a question, or anything in between,) please message us here or reach out to [email protected] for assistance. We’re here to help!
We also have a bit of information from Agent Eric Slauson, the creator of the game!
“In addition to constantly searching for artists for future MonsDRAWsity expansions, I’ve been keeping busy doing various writing jobs in the industry. I’ve been writing trivia questions for this series, as well as using my English teacher background to edit rulebooks for companies like Deep Water Games, Pandasaurus, Arcane Wonders, and Jellybean Games. If anyone is in need of any content writing or proofreading/editing, they can reach out to me on Twitter.”
That’s right. You could have Agent Slauson working on your projects and missions too; all you have to do is reach out.
